Graceful but heavy bodies of Jade 1 speaker systems seem to be closed, but in reality the model has aperiodic enclosure loading. Such loading is the gap in the lower part, filled with porous material. Two heads, specially designed for Jade line, are mounted on the powerful facade. This is a mid-range with 76 mm diffuser made of metalized composite and 125-mm woofer with the membrane, woven from a unique Acufiber material. This composite made from fiberglass and carbon fibers has a low weight and high rigidity to deformations. An inch aluminum tweeter is on the top outside the body and placed into streamlined capsule. Crossover is made of selected components and there are four gilt terminals on the back wall for the connection to an amplifier.
As an option the manufacturer offers elegant stands, which contribute the most striking fulfilment of monitors’ sound potential.
Wharfedale Jade 1 completely follows the branded sound concept. Middle and upper bands are reproduced extremely brightly and openly, sound resolution is high, allowing you to easily hear even the smallest details of phonogram. Despite of slightly accented sibilants, the articulation of voices is perfect. The upper case is just exemplary. It doesn’t have excess aggression; there is good organization and even intelligence. The lowest bass is a bit relaxed, but in general its structure is correct. Virtual space is wide and truly three-dimensional. There were no questions to positioning of individual instruments.
